Preparing for Your Graduation Portrait

Session Congratulations, Graduate! 🎓 Whether you're celebrating this huge milestone solo, with family, or with an escort by your side, this session is all about capturing your hard work, personality,

and pride in style. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your graduation photoshoot:

1. What to Wear

Your outfit sets the tone for your photos, so here are some tips for getting camera-ready:

Cap & Gown:

  • Bring your full regalia: cap, gown, cords, stoles, tassel—whatever you've earned, wear it proudly!

  • Steam or iron your gown the night before to avoid wrinkles.

Outfit Underneath:

  • Choose something classic and flattering—you’ll be taking some photos without your gown too.

  • For women: dresses, skirts, or dressy jumpsuits in solid colors look beautiful.

  • For men: button-down shirts, ties, slacks, or a fitted suit work great.

  • Avoid busy patterns, logos, and neon colors.

For Escorts & Family:

  • Keep it coordinated! Choose colors that complement your outfit, but don’t stress about matching exactly. Neutrals and pastels always photograph beautifully.

  • Let them know ahead of time to dress for the occasion—it’s a celebration!

2. Bring the Essentials

  • Your cap, gown, cords, and diploma cover

  • Comfortable shoes (you can swap to heels or dress shoes for the photos)

  • Makeup touch-ups, hairbrush, and safety pins just in case

  • Props you want to include (school banner, confetti, balloons, flowers, etc.)

  • Water and a towel or napkins if it’s warm outside—you want to stay fresh!

3. Let’s Make It Personal

This is your moment! If you have:

  • A special location that means something to you (your campus, favorite spot, etc.), let me know.

  • Any ideas or vibes you're going for (formal, fun, stylish, sentimental), I’m here to bring it to life.

  • A letterman jacket, championship ring, instrument, or anything that reflects your story—bring it!

4. Preparing Escorts & Family

If others are joining you:

  • Let them know we’ll be capturing both posed and candid moments.

  • Encourage them to relax and just enjoy the time—we’re here to celebrate you together.

  • We'll take individual shots of you, group photos, and a few fun combinations.

5. Most Important: Soak It All In

You’ve worked so hard to get here. This session is about celebrating that. Don’t worry about being perfect—just be you. I’ll guide you through every pose and prompt so you feel confident, comfortable, and completely celebrated.
